Tanzania eVisa pricing on this site is two numbers added together: a government application fee that depends on visa type, and a flat service fee of US$59.99 per passenger. There is no separate rush surcharge. The total is not a park fee, a yellow-fever clinic bill, or Zanzibar insurance.
Quick answer: Check your nationality on the requirement checker before you pay anyone. If this service is available, open the fees calculator, select the visa type that matches the trip, and multiply by the number of travelers. Visa-exempt visitors should not pay an eVisa fee for an ordinary visa-free stay.

The multiple-entry tourist product is listed for U.S. citizens and select others. Do not choose it because it “sounds more flexible” if the form does not offer it for your passport. U.S. tourist applicants should read Tanzania eVisa for US citizens.
Choose the type that matches the real purpose:

A cheaper transit fee is not a discount tourist visa.
What the service fee covers
The US$59.99 service fee is assistance around the government application: help completing the form, document review, and support while the file is open. It is charged per passenger.
It does not purchase:
- A guaranteed approval
- A guaranteed 24-hour decision
- A reserved safari camp or flight
- Entry at the border (the officer still decides)

What is not included
Budget these separately if they apply to your trip:
- International and domestic flights
- Park and conservation fees
- Accommodation and safari packages
- Travel insurance, including any Zanzibar inbound insurance requirement
- Vaccination or medical certificates
- Yellow-fever documentation when your routing requires it
- Airport transport and tips
Those costs can exceed the eVisa total. Do not compare two safari quotes without checking whether park fees are included.

A family of four is four passengers. There is no “one booking reference, one fee” discount. If a child appears cheaper on the live form, that is the form talking, not this table.
Paying the tourist total for a work assignment does not make the trip tourism. Paying the transit total for a 12-day safari does not make the trip transit.
Compare those visa totals with a typical safari invoice. A few nights in the Serengeti or Ngorongoro, plus park fees, can exceed the eVisa line by an order of magnitude. That is why this article refuses to treat the visa as the “main cost of Tanzania.” It is a gate. The trip cost sits elsewhere.
If two operators quote the same camp, ask whether park fees, flying-doctor cover and VAT are inside the number before you use the cheaper quote to “save” on the visa type.
How to avoid paying the wrong amount
- Run the nationality checker.
- Count every traveler, including children. Each person needs their own status. See the children's visa guide.
- Match visa type to purpose before you open the card form.
- Use the passport you will travel on. A renewed passport after payment is a new identity document.
- Do not pay a second time to “speed up” a pending file.
- Keep the payment confirmation with the application reference.
Group applications on this service can cover multiple travelers on the same itinerary, up to the family/group limit described in the family checklist. That is still one fee stack per person, not one shared visa.
Safari quotes often exclude or include park fees inconsistently. Compare camps on the same basis, then add the eVisa total on top. Do not ask this site to “bundle” Ngorongoro fees into the visa payment; they are different payees.
Refunds and refusals
This service states that service fees are returned if the application is rejected. That is not a refund of every government charge in every scenario, and it is not compensation for a cancelled safari. Read the refund policy and terms before you pay.
An immigration refusal means you should not travel on that application. Buying a new flight while an appeal or a new file is unfinished is a separate financial risk.

Is the government fee the same at the airport?

Do children pay the same?
Price the application per passenger on the fees calculator. Government fee exemptions, when they exist, are an immigration rule—not something to assume from an old blog. Confirm on the form for that child.
Why is business so much more than tourist?
They are different immigration products. Using a tourist application for paid work or a business assignment is how files get delayed or refused.
Can I pay in Tanzanian shillings?
